Wurst Brass Festival

Enjoy a day of unforgettable live brass band music, mouthwatering German food, and festival fun! Hosted by Iowa Brass, the Wurst Brass Festival runs alongside Amana’s famous Wurst Festival, bringing together top brass bands from across the nation for an electrifying celebration. The event runs from 10:00 AM-7:30 PM and features 10 brass bands from across the country. The Big River Brass Band will open the festivities at 10:00 AM.

Sterling Grandon Civic Center

Sterling’s historic Grandon Civic Center is a wonderful venue to enjoy a summer night of brass band music! Seating is available on the park benches, but you may bring your chairs/blankets to sit on the park's lawn area. Please feel free to bring your snacks or purchase refreshments at the concession stand.

Aledo Central Park

In the heart of Aledo, Illinois sits one of our favorite places to play - the lovely bandshell in Central Park. Bring a chair or blanket and some food and drinks to share with your friends and family while you enjoy the fantastic music!

St. Paul Lutheran Church feat. Wycliff Gordon

The stunning St. Paul Lutheran Church is where we close our summer season! In addition to performances of our favorite selections from the summer, we are also excited to feature our special guest artist, Wycliffe Gordon on trombone. Mr. Gordon is a world renowned trombonist and you will not want to miss this performance!

The Big River Brass Band is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501c3 organization. We do not collect dues from members and no member of our organization receives pay. We rely on the support of our patrons and donors to cover our daily operating costs and budgeting for larger expenses. With the generous donations of our fans, we have recently been able to purchase two new timpani, a new band trailer, new signage for the Big River Brass Band, in addition to bringing some spectacular guest artists like Rex Richardson and others to the Quad Cities.
